A fourth-generation Texan, Colin played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was part of the Tennessee Titans from 2006 to 2010.
Titans picked Allred as an undrafted free agent after the 2006 NFL draft on May 4, 2006. He made his NFL regular season debut on December 16, 2007.
Colin played four seasons for the Titans, recording 46 tackles in 32 appearances. After his tenure at the Titans, he decided to pursue a career in law and politics.

The couple has two sons named Jordan Allred and Cameron Allred. Jordan was born in 2019, just weeks after Colin was sworn into Congress.
