Young is currently leading at the PGA Tour event, the World Wide Technology Championship. The competition, which has a prize pool of $7,200,000, kicked off on November 7, 2024.

Young comes from Pendleton, a small town in Anderson, South Carolina. Although Carson was not raised in the usual “golf family,” he received support from his parents to make a career out of it.
Initially, Carson played tennis growing up like his brothers and cousins. He later saw a golf course beside the tennis courts and asked his parents to let him play the sport.
Young was helped by the local pro, Harvey Brook, who made a way for him to practice at the Boscobel Golf Club. Soon, Young’s father took him to junior tournaments and pushed him to find success as an amateur golfer.
