Dan Ashworth has announced to leave role as a sporting director of Premier League side Manchester United. He served in the position just for five months.
Ashworth is the former sporting director for Premier League club Manchester United. He was appointed to the position following an agreement on July 1, 2024.
However, after just five months in the role, Ashworth has decided to leave his role as the sporting director of United. He made the announcement after a meeting with chief executive officer, Omar Berrada.

Dan was initially shortlisted by United as a candidate for the technical director back in August 2018. He was then appointed as the technical director at Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion in spring 2019.
Eventually, Ashworth decided to join Premier League side Newcastle United as a sporting director in February 2022. Newcastle later confirmed that Ashworth was departing from the club and joining Manchester United on February 19, 2024.
Now, after United’s loss against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Ashworth decided to end his tenure at the club.

Ashworth then made his move to West Bromwich Albion where was named the club’s sporting and technical director in December 2007. He was then appointed as the FA director of elite development on September 17, 2012.
