Laura Gillen and her husband, Chris walked down the aisle together 25 years ago in 1999. The pair celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October 2024.

Laura is leading the race at the 2024 United States House of Representatives elections in New York. At this time of writing, Gillen is leading over the Republican Party incumbent, Anthony D’Esposito.

Gillen has accumulated 50.9% (182,771) votes in the US House New York District 4. D’Esposito is following her from behind with 49.1% (176,623) votes.

Laura announced her candidacy for Congress in May 2023. She has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University since September 2021.

Gillen was an of counsel to Westerman Ball Ederer Miller Zucker & Sharfstein LLP’s Litigation Department from 2005 to 2017. She built her expertise in representing corporate and individual clients in matters involving fraud, defamation, shareholder disputes, contracts, employment, business torts, and intellectual property.

Before that, Laura joined Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP as a summer associate in 2000. She worked for the firm while also pursuing her law studies at New York University till 2005.

Laura handled the work of Divemaster at DiveInDeep in 1996 in Koh Samui Thailand. Through 1996, she traveled to destinations in China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India to extend her volunteer mission with the Missionaries of Charity.

On the occasion of their 25th glorious year of togetherness, Gillen described how blessed she feels to spend every single day with her partner. Now a resident of Rockville Center, New York, Laura and Chris are raising four children, including two sons and two daughters.

Their daughter, Laine graduated from Fordham University in May 2024.
