
Ruoning Yin had no patience whatsoever as a kid when her parents were practicing golf. Then four-year-old, her hard club swing hit her father on his head, resulting in an injury.
Yin is a Chinese professional golfer who started playing the sport when she was 10 and a half years old. She began her professional journey in 2020, as part of the China LPGA Tour.
Ruoning is currently competing in the LPGA Tour tournament, Buick LPGA Shanghai. The competition being played on Qizhong Garden Golf Course, started on October 9, 2024.

Yin and Japanese golfer Mao Saigo are having a neck-and-neck battle on the final day of the tournament on Sunday, October 13, 2024. The Chinese international has a marginal lead over second-placed Saigo, with South Korean golfer Kim Sei-Young closely following behind.
At the start of the final round’s play, Yin was placed second on the leaderboard with Mao leading the chart. The young Asian golfers had a competitive battle on the penultimate day, setting up a grandstand finish.
If Yin can keep up her lead, she will take home a cash prize of $2,100,000.
Ruoning Yin Early Life & Parents
Ruoning Yin’s upbringing came from an Asian family in her hometown of Kunming, China. She was born on September 28, 2002, making her 22 years old in 2024.
Raised in the Yunnan province of China, Yin’s father is originally from Shanghai. She credits her father for inspiring her to play golf in the first place.
Yin has a bad memory as a four-year-old when she accidentally injured her father while her parents were practicing golf. Her dad was teaching her mother how to swing a club at the driving range. Yin was impatient to wait for her turn and had a hard swing at the club, resulting in a head injury to her father.
Her dad required four stitches on his head following the unfortunate incident. While the experience was nasty, Yin’s golf career evolved through that as she started playing the sport at age 10.

How Much Is Ruoning Yin’s Net Worth?
Yin turned pro in 2020 and started playing on the China LPGA Tour in the same year. The Chinese international has won six professional titles so far, three of which came on the LPGA Tour.
Yin started playing on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour in 2022. A year later, she won the Women’s PGA Championship, becoming the only second women’s major championship winner from China.

While starting her career on the China LPGA Tour, Yin won her first three events in a row. Before that, Yin registered nine titles as a junior amateur in 2019 including the National Amateur Championship.
Yin represented the Chinese women’s national team at the 2018 Asian Games at age 16. She won the bronze medal in the women’s team event during her Asian Games debut.
Yin’s official career earnings swirl around $4.7 million. She has managed earnings of $1.6 million in 2024 so far.
